My aunt asked a simple question about a rug, and instead of helping, the staff member dismissed her and told her to “go to another TKMaxx or call them,” with a clear attitude. When my aunt asked why she was being rude, the staff member replied, “Go ahead and make a complaint… don’t worry, we can always find another job.” The store wasn’t even busy. I then asked about another rug — specifically whether the smaller ones hanging had the same design as the larger ones. Her response was, “Do you think it will fit if it’s the same?” again with the same rude tone. She also complained that she couldn’t understand me because of my accent. It felt like she was belittling me simply because I’m Asian, and that is completely unacceptable. Is this really the standard of customer service TKMaxx stands for?
