Very poor selection of men’s clothes - pokey and small!

Very disappointed with Matalan New Malden, particularly the store manager, Camille. I bought a dress from Croydon on 12th September. When paying, I entered my email address to link the purchase to my Matalan account, so I reasonably believed the transaction would be recorded against my account and I wouldn’t need to keep a physical receipt. When I returned to New Malden a week later, I showed my online banking transaction as proof of purchase. Despite this, Camille refused the return and told me to go back to Croydon so they could check CCTV to prove I had actually paid and received a receipt. I found this extremely insulting, particularly given her negative attitude from the outset, which left me feeling I was being treated unfairly and with prejudice. I wasn’t even offered an exchange, which I would have happily accepted. I contacted Matalan Customer Services, who confirmed that returns are ultimately at the manager’s discretion. If purchases linked to a customer’s Matalan account cannot be used to verify a purchase, this needs to be made much clearer. Customers should not be left in a position where they reasonably believe their purchase is recorded on their account, only to be told later that it cannot be used. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this branch, and I may avoid Matalan altogether if this is how regular customers are treated.

A spacious shop. They offer a wide selection of summer dresses, tops, and other apparel. I noticed they also have a substantial collection of clothes on sale.
