- FFFilipSep 26, 20261.0I went to this TK Maxx today and bought a couple of items, including a pair of trousers. When my partner and I got home, we realised that the security tag had not been removed. It started beeping the moment I touched it. I called the store to let them know what had happened, and the person who answered told me that we would have to return to the store to have the tag removed and that we would receive compensation for the inconvenience. Since I am currently recovering from a sports injury, I had to ask my partner to return to the store herself. Before she could leave, we even had to disable the alarm using a hammer. When she arrived at the store, they removed the tag but then told her that they could not provide any compensation for the inconvenience this had caused. My partner spent an additional two hours travelling back and forth to resolve an issue that was entirely the store's responsibility. I would have appreciated some form of compensation, which I believe is a reasonable expectation from a professional business when something like this happens. We all make mistakes, but we should also take responsibility for those mistakes and respond accordingly. Judging from many of the other comments in here, I'm not surprised that the situation was dealt with in this way. I will avoid TKMaxx from now on, as I'm not willing to be treated this way in exchange for saving a few pounds on my purchase. Do better.
