  Maison Assouline strikes that rare balance between grand, historic architecture and an intimate, impeccably curated clubroom. Between the towering book walls, the red statement shelving, and the iconic Scalamandré zebra wallpaper adorning the washroom walls, every corner is visually stunning. The staff sets the standard here with true white-glove treatment—literally, if you want to flip through their oversized Ultimate Collection volumes on the wooden stands. I’ve bought countless books here over the years (they make the best gifts), and the space has hosted everything from private dinners (the grande salle is a dream 😍) to professional events seamlessly. Then there’s Swans Bar. Whether sitting upstairs on the mezzanine watching the room below or right at the counter, it’s always a standout. Their infamous spicy margarita with the tajín rim and snack spread is essential, and a glass of Ruinart here has seen me through both great days and not-so-great ones. A timeless Piccadilly favorite that simply doesn’t miss.

  Friendly staff and lovely ambience, but the drinks were overpriced. Seeing a mouse scurrying around definitely didn't help the experience.

  Maison Assouline on London’s Piccadilly is a wonderful place for book lovers. Blending an high end library with a modern bar, it offers an unique experience for book lovers and collectors. I visited the store last christmas and all books are wonderful. A great place for gift idea. I own the "Impossible Collection of Wine". This Ultimate Collection Series is handcrafted and comes beautifully packaged in a wooden crate, showcasing exceptional artisan binding and premium paper. Inside, the world’s most legendary 20th-century vintages come alive. While the wine labels are not originals, they have been meticulously reproduced using the highest printing quality.

  Thank you for your response. However, I would like to clarify a few important points, as your explanation does not reflect what actually happened during my visit. I arrived before the other customers and was told that the bar and two tables were occupied and that I should wait around 10 minutes for a table. I agreed and waited. When the other customers arrived after me, I was specifically told that they were “regular customers” and that they should be seated before me because they come often. There was no mention of them having a reservation. Later, one table became available, but I was still kept waiting. Only when a second table became free did the staff call both me and the other customers to be seated at the same time. To be clear, they were not seated before me — we were seated at the same time, despite the first table having already been available while I was waiting. What made the situation even more disappointing was that I asked another member of staff if there was a manager I could speak to about what had happened, and I was pointed towards the same people who had treated me this way. If this is the management, then unfortunately that says a lot about the way customers are treated here.
