We waited a very long time before anyone came to assist us. When someone finally did, they came across as condescending and made us feel as though we weren’t welcome. What upset me most was that I smiled at the employee while they were assisting us, and although they clearly saw me, they didn’t acknowledge me at all. Shortly afterward, I saw the same employee smiling warmly at another customer who was already being assisted. As an Arab and Muslim customer, that difference in treatment left me wondering whether our background played a role. I can’t say for certain, but it made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. What makes this even more disappointing is that I’ve visited Chanel boutiques in my home country and in Thailand, where the service was significantly better. I expected the same level of professionalism and hospitality from such a prestigious boutique, but this experience fell far below those expectations. Luxury shopping should make every customer feel respected, regardless of their background. Unfortunately, this visit did not.
