  Located on South John Street right in the heart of Liverpool ONE, The LEGO® Store is a bright, high-energy temple to the famous plastic brick. It is a fantastic destination that caters just as well to adult fans of LEGO (AFOLs) and hardcore collectors as it does to young kids. It's easily the best place on Merseyside to get your hands on hard-to-find exclusive sets, but the physical constraints of the shop mean your experience will vary wildly depending on when you walk through the door. ​On the positive side, the store is visually spectacular and incredibly fun to browse. The custom, large-scale LEGO brick models scattered around the floor are fantastic for a quick photo opportunity. It features all the classic staple interactive experiences that make official brand stores special, including a large "Pick & Build" wall where you can fill cups with specific individual pieces, a "Build a Minifigure" station, and even a Minifigure Factory screen to customize your own characters. The staff—or "Brick Specialists"—are an absolute credit to the store. They are genuinely knowledgeable, immensely passionate about building, and exceptionally patient when helping you track down specific serial numbers or explaining how to maximize your Insiders loyalty points. ​The main drawback is that the Liverpool ONE branch is surprisingly compact compared to some of the massive flagship stores you find in other major cities. Because of the relatively small floor layout, it becomes an absolute bottleneck of pure chaos during peak hours. If you visit on a Saturday afternoon, during school holidays, or in the lead-up to Christmas, the shop is packed wall-to-wall. The narrow aisles become incredibly difficult to navigate if you are trying to push a pram or carry a larger, expensive box like a Star Wars UCS set. ​Furthermore, during these high-traffic rushes, the queues for the till can wind all the way around the central display tables, and the most popular new releases or hot promotional "Gift with Purchase" items sell out incredibly fast. ​Ultimately, the Liverpool LEGO Store is a joyful, perfectly stocked retail experience with a brilliant team behind the counter. If you want to take your time picking out specific bricks at the wall or browsing the displays, try to bypass the weekend crowd entirely by visiting on a quiet weekday morning or evening.
