- CMChloe Mullender6 days ago5.0I went into Matalan on Sunday and the worker on the fitting rooms named hannah not only kept a professional manner, she also gave me some great advice on my clothes picked as well as praised how i looked in the clothes tried. this gesture truly made my day and i will definitely be returning to Matalan in the future, thank you hannah for your kind words!

There was only one customer ahead of me and no queue behind, yet I was told I had to use the self-checkout while paying by card. I had around 20 items, all on hangers, so I politely asked if I could use the staffed till instead - I didn’t want to take the hangers wanted to take these off as they were being scanned. I was told no, and the staff member then said, in a dismissive tone, “As you don’t want to do it, I’ll do it for you,” before scanning my items and walking off. The experience was frustrating. I’m removing one star for the policy of not allowing customers to use a cashier when one is available, and another star for the unprofessional attitude of the staff member. I had tried to pass this feedback on directly but this was not a straight forward process as it required logging in etc.
