  I love the Lego Store because I love Lego. We will regularly take a trip into Leeds and pop in every time we do. The new store bigger and brighter than the old one with more displays. Some of the large brick built models are amazing. The staff are friendly and helpful, had generally knowledgeable about the products. That said, they are sometimes too friendly. We will often be approached by multiple individual members of staff (3 is common , 4 on one visit) asking if we need help. I find this approach uncomfortable and off-putting. Maybe it's Lego's way of reducing shoplifting, reminding people that they're being watched. Maybe I look shifty 😂 The other problem I have with the store is the build a minifigure station. My daughter and I will always endeavour to purchase a trio each and enjoy picking up the new parts. Unfortunately the Leeds store always seems to have very limited numbers of parts. Either that or the Leeds Lego collectors are quick to clear out the new parts (we ended up at the Meadowhall store for the Halloween themed ones). My biggest issue with the minifigure station though is the lack of space. It's often the case that there simply isn't room for the number of people wishing to use the facility. Oddly I never recall this being an issue in the smaller store but can't remember if the station was bigger or not. It seems to me that adding an additional station would be a good idea. There is the space to do so, but if the Lego group wanted to keep the open feel of the store maybe replacing one of the three build stations would be an option? None of which were in use on any of our several trips to the store yesterday, and we didn't manage to build our minifigures. Our first failure in many years 😕

  The friendly staff here made the visit really good the pokemon battle between my son and a staff member was fun for him and the chatty cashier made him smile so thanks guys.

  We visited the new Leeds store for a free Pokemon session, where kids get to make and keep a Pokeball and play with the new Smart Bricks. Seth & Brooke were both great at getting my 11 & almost-13 year olds enthused and building at 8am in the morning. When my eldest decided that he was too old to be battling Pokemon, Seth engaged him by showing him some of the more grown-up sets that he had impressively built the store displays for, and asked him about some of his own favourite builds. As always in this store, there is never any pressure to buy immediately and we left with a looong Christmas list (and career aspirations to work in the Lego store when he's older!)
