I bought a pair of earrings and only noticed when I got home that one of the beads was missing. I returned the very next day with my receipt, but was repeatedly told the return could not be accepted because of "hygiene reasons." What completely shocked me was what Sheyanne said next. She told me that if I had said the bead had fallen off at home, the earrings would have been accepted as faulty and I would have received a refund. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I was honest about what had happened, and it felt like I was being penalized for telling the truth. The message I was left with was simple: if I had lied, I would have got my money back. To make matters even more confusing, later that same day I visited another TK Maxx store nearby with the exact same earrings, the exact same receipt, and the exact same explanation. They refunded me immediately without any issue and apologized about it. That shows this wasn't really about "hygiene" at all, but about how the situation was handled. No customer should ever leave a store feeling that honesty works against them. I hope TK Maxx takes this feedback seriously and ensures a more customer-focused approach across its stores.
