  Went shopping with my mother today 15th April at matalan Beeston. My mother is Disabled with Possession of disabled key for the toilet. With only one kidney My mum needs access to a toilet asap. She was told by a staff member No toilets were available!! When I put the question to her again, “so you’re saying there’s no access for a disabled person going to the toilet, she replied “yes that’s right! Later walking around the shop I found the shop manager who kindly & informed me there were toilets Available and she kindly took my mum. And said all access is available. So for information purposes, if you’re ever in this situation, don’t listen to the staff on the floor and find the manager!!

  The manager at matalan gave me a great experience he was there to help me pick out good clothes thank you very much.

  I would like to leave a 5 star to lady Savannah who work in Matalan Nottingham Rd, Beeston, Nottingham NG9 6DS. I had a severe neck pain due to uneven pillow when i was sleeping over the weekend. I wasn’t able to look right, had to move my whole body to right side because of pain on my left side of neck. I needed this hot water bag so i could put on my neck. I spoke to a lady over the counter who mentioned that it’s only available over Christmas period. I got similar answer from TKMax. When Savanna heard, she was very helpful. She mentioned that there’s one for neck available. She took me where it was located. This was great because i normally find staff showing me only the direction where it is. Once there, she gave me the bag which i think was perfect and what i was actually looking for. This action of her made me find this product very easily. I liked Savannah customer service. Her smile and positive attitude towards customer is excellent. Matalan should be thankful to have such welcoming staff. She deserves some bonus for her positive work ethic and performance.

  Very disappointing experience at this store on Sunday morning. I arrived at 10:00 a.m., the advertised opening time, having made the effort to get there early as I had a busy day planned. I had a list ready and items totalling around £60–£70, so I was in and out mode. When I got to the till, I was told I couldn’t be served until 10:30 a.m. due to staff training. Being asked to wait 30 minutes after the store is already open is completely unacceptable. Internal training should never impact customers once doors are open — that’s a store management issue, not a customer one. We are regular Matalan shoppers, but this experience left me feeling frustrated and undervalued. I was ready to spend money and instead walked out. Unfortunately, this has put me off returning to this store in person, as the level of customer service expected simply wasn’t provided.
