  I went to visit the store as I’m after a speedmaster - I arrived at 10 past 5, the security guard wouldn’t open the door and just pointed to the 5:30 closing time - I pointed to the time on my phone and he just ignored me.

  My first (new) Rolex purchase at Mappin & Webb, Cambridge: I’m a watch enthusiast with a number of watches (too many probably…). I have never bought a new Rolex. I had been put off a little by the rumours and chitchat online suggesting that they were selective, snobby etc and that there was some sort of silly game that you had to play. But I have always wanted an Explorer. I love the simple but elegant design, the ruggedness, the engineering, the history and the subtlety (nobody but a real enthusiast will spot an Explorer). With a Bloody Mary on board to calm my nerves I went in for an appointment with Mark. He was knowledgable, friendly, welcoming and explained the whole process clearly and simply. They have a limited number of Rolexes sent to them. Demand is higher than supply. You put your name down on a list and are given a time estimate (12 months for my watch). When your name is up you get a call and the option to buy. Simple. I suspect they are on the lookout for time wasters and people who just want to flip the watch once they get it. But that is fair enough, isn’t it? They want to sell to genuine people who love their watches. Morgan cars do the same thing for the same reason. Perhaps he could tell that I was a genuine enthusiast. Perhaps he believed me that I want to wear the heck out this watch and give it to one of my children. Perhaps he believed me that I want to leave a nice watch to each of the four of them (sentimental, I know, but a fun family tradition). Then only three months later I got the call. Neil was also knowledgeable and friendly - and the watch is fantastic. So, all in all, a simple, helpful, friendly process. I cannot recommend them enough. Just three more children to cater for…

  A superb experience from the first visit to my most recent. Nothing was too much trouble for Neil and Marcus, and their help in my journey to aquire a dream watch made the whole thing more memorable Would highly recommend them

  My Dad me a got a TagHeuer watch on Saturday 12th the 19th and we were served by Noah who has exceptional product knowledge and and polite and gave great advice on how to set the Watch and truly made it an experience to remember

  Editing 20th April 2026 I wrote to Kim from the email you can see under. After 3 weeks I would expect an answer . At this point it seems clear to me that the Rolex Explorer 1 presented to me from Mappin & Webb in Cambridge the watch with dubious provenance was not new but maybe refurbished or reconditioned . This is considered fraud by false representation of intentionally misrepresents the customer . I will try to contact Rolex in Switzerland and explain that an Authorized dealer should represent the Rolex's company with integrity . After waiting a few months for the new Rolex explorer 1, I received a call from Sally that the watch is arrived Morning 27th March 2026 appointment in Cambridge with Marcus at 10am When arrived the watch was outside on the desk no box was on the desk, the watch had a clear stickers but I felt that particularly the case back the sticker was poorly in good state the top sticker over the glass below there was a scratch but Marcus said they put all the stickers to protect the watch, but still what it was under when the sticker on the glass and if so the sticker it should be place and fitted perfectly . Alt wait a moment Rolex would not sell a watch where the stickers poorly in position and the back a scrappy one . The enjoyment to get a new Rolex became a worry and would you spend £6600 for a wondering state watch? Taking present that on 6th April is my birthday I was in a way excited . I took some excuses but before leaving a new colleague asked me about watches and at one point he wanted to show to me the Longines which I started to have a suspicious you enter for one watch and you go out with another In all the experience was horrible the watch Explorer 1 should be taken from the box when I was present and all the stickers properly placed from Rolex and not from M&W, so what I saw is the meaning that the watch came from some place somewhere . Rolex does not work in this way the watch must be in pristine condition from the sticker to the box which I did not see at all. No professionalism in all never again M&W please note that a few years ago same shop I bought a Longines for my mother it last less than one year Riz
