- GRGuillaume RosseletAug 29, 20261.0TDLR: I really enjoy being, very obviously, racially profiled by security while doing my shopping… 🙄 So I went to this shop on Saturday late morning to buy a couple of preserving jars as I am going to do some homemade feta cheese later on today. I am 41 years old wearing casual clothes - my Levi’s jean are ironed, I wear clean branded clothing, I present well but due to my Spanish ancestry I am often confused for being North African or Arabic. Not 2 minutes after entering the store I notice a security guard standing on the side of the aisle I am looking at and very obviously tagging me. He was following me around like a shadow… Very obvious about it as well like -‘we know you’re a thief we’re keeping a close eye on you’. That’s so insulting. When directly confronted about racially profiling he just lied and I dismissed him quickly, not point having a conversation he’s clearly racially prejudiced anyway, I cannot think of any other reasons why I was being so closely followed around the store. TK Maxx has lost a customer for life, never again I will give them my business. I make £45k gross a year I really don’t need to steal a few quids worth of trinkets… 🙄
