I want to start this review by stating the positive rating is solely down to that of the manager of this store - she is absolutely fantastic, caring and compassionate.
Sadly, the same cannot be sad for a member of staff named “Emma” who misinformed me she was the store manager.
I want to make a point of saying, I have specifically called this store on a number of occasions enquiring as to whether my very small (carried) chihuahua is allowed in store, and have been assured this is not a problem. Having taken him in for the past year numerous times a week without any issues, I was stopped today on the door by security who said he didn’t think dogs were allowed.
I was absolutely stunned when the rudest lady I had ever encountered marched over (large drawn on eyebrows, brown unkempt hair) and abruptly informed me I was not allowed in the store. I tried to explain to her I had spoken to someone previously who confirmed this was not an issue, and that he is a registered therapy dog, to which she demanded to see my phone call log. Due to the nature of my work, I did not feel comfortable with this, but was more than happy to produce a card showing my dog was registered as a therapy animal. She completely refused to listen and instead began raising her voice and making me feel incredibly afraid, demanding I was wrong and had to leave.
I was then informed she was in fact not the store manager, when a lovely lady (who was the store manager) came over and couldn’t have been more helpful and understanding. I was visibly shaking and upset by this point.
I was then allowed back into the store with my dog with no issues, as we had initially attempted to do.
Emma’s behaviour was discriminatory, rude and against the law.
I would urge people to be kind and to ask to speak to the genuine store manager - she is wonderful.
