  I had a genuinely unpleasant experience at TK Maxx Bedford today, involving both a member of staff and the store manager. From the outset, the attitude of the staff member I dealt with was dismissive and unprofessional. When I politely asked what brand a ring was, it was simply thrown onto the counter and I was told, “It’s a ring,” with no attempt to assist or engage. The overall manner felt snobby, unwelcoming, and completely lacking in basic customer service. The situation then escalated at the till. I was purchasing a bag that had no price label attached, and the staff member attempted to charge me £20 more than the price clearly listed on the TK Maxx website. The website showed the bag at £149, yet I was told it was £169, with the explanation that it was supposedly a “larger size.” To clarify the situation, a tape measure was brought out and the bag was physically measured. It was clearly the same size, same brand, same item as listed online. Despite all evidence proving this, both the staff member and the manager continued to insist on charging me the extra £20. There was no reasonable explanation, no acknowledgement of the facts, and no willingness to admit they were incorrect. This process took around 45 minutes, wasted a significant amount of my time, and left me feeling extremely uncomfortable. The refusal to accept clear evidence and the persistent attempt to overcharge me was unacceptable.
