Absolutely filthy. And staff were not bothered about it when we mentioned how disgusting the changing rooms were. It was literally fluff flying around from days of no sweeping and rubbish left behind. & everyone was being encouraged to use self chest despite 4 staff standing right there just watching the customers. Such a shame as Matalan always offers good things but not the service…

⭐ 1-star review – Matalan Blackburn Absolutely disgusting condition in the changing-room area today. The floor was filthy, with dirt and rubbish left around, and it certainly didn’t look like it had been properly cleaned. FLUFF EVERYWHERE AND THICK WITH DUST I was wearing white socks, which made the state of the floor even more noticeable. What makes this even worse is that this is not the first time I’ve encountered the store in this condition. When I raised it with a member of staff at the till, rather than taking the complaint seriously, she laughed and said, “Yeah, we know.” (LUCY WHITESIDE) If staff already know about the problem, why hasn’t anything been done about it? To make matters worse, there were three members of staff near the entrance who appeared to be focused on encouraging customers to use the self-checkouts, while areas of the shop were clearly in need of attention. This is not the standard I expect when shopping in Matalan. Customers shouldn’t have to walk through filthy floors and rubbish, and staff shouldn’t dismiss concerns about cleanliness as though it’s normal. Matalan Blackburn really needs to address the cleanliness of this store and take customer complaints seriously.

Good value for money. Not pretentious and pricey like some other stores.
