I used to enjoy going into this DSW and tried to shop there rather than online. I love shoes so this is typically one of my favorite places to be. I went in recently because I was online looking for a specific pair of shoes. I found them and saw that they had them in stock at my local Barrett Pkwy DSW. I quickly got to my car so I could get there in time before closing. As I pulled up, with 12 minutes before closing, I was met with an employee, Jason, who was standing in front of the door (yes, literally). Looking at his watch. He then said that they were closing soon. Look, I respect everyone’s excitement to get home. I really do. But this was absolutely unnecessary. I turned around and left. I will never step foot into this store again. I knew what I needed and knew where to find them. Even if I didn’t, you do not make a customer feel this way. I’m sorry that you hate working, Jason - but if you do not like the possibility of someone walking in before close, then perhaps you need a different job where you can leave when you want without making others feel bad for trying to patronize a store - yes, even right before closing time.

I recently tried the shoe repair service that DSW offers through Cobbler's Direct, and the experience was disappointing from start to finish.
The first red flag was learning that the process takes 6-8 weeks on average—information I only discovered when dropping off my shoes. That timeline seemed unreasonably long, but since I was already at the store, I decided to go ahead with it.
Cobbler's Direct confirmed they received my shoes and later notified me that the repairs were complete and the shoes would be returned to the DSW location in Kennesaw. According to FedEx tracking, the package was delivered and signed for at that store. However, when I went to pick them up, no one could locate my shoes. I've visited the store multiple times and called repeatedly, but the shoes remain missing.
When I contacted Cobbler's Direct, a representative said he would look into it and follow up—but I never heard back. What's particularly frustrating is that I received no photos or documentation showing the completed work, nor was I given any opportunity to approve the repairs before the shoes were supposedly sent back.
I've reached out to both the Kennesaw store and DSW customer service requesting compensation for the lost shoes. Customer service directed me back to the store, where I was told a manager (possibly named Emory) would contact me. That call never came.
At this point, I've accepted the loss. The hassle of continuing to chase people down isn't worth the stress. However, I won't be returning to that DSW location or using Cobbler's Direct again.

We went there just a couple of days prior to Christmas day. The selection was excellent and the workers were very pleasant and helpful. There was a certain type of shoe I was seeking, and the individual walked me directly to the pair, which was a time saver, considering the large layout.

Very poor selection of composite toe/steel toe footwear. They only have two options, wolverine or caterpillar. I tried on every variation and ended up with a pair of wolverines. After wearing my new shoes at work for one day, I realized these shoes were uncomfortable and held in too much moisture. I went back to return them and was unable to get my money back. At least they’re able to give me a store credit though. I’m in the hole over 100 bucks because I had to buy another pair of shoes from Cavender‘s, which has a far superior selection of work shoes/boots.
