My husband and I decided to make holiday photos at JCPenney our family tradition after having an AMAZING experience last year at the Fayetteville location. So, naturally, we booked again for this year. The moment we arrived, though, we could tell it wasn’t going to be the same. We showed up 30 minutes early, and the lobby was packed—families everywhere, no greeting, completely disorganized, and the employees looked miserable. Who wants holiday photos when the staff looks like they don’t want to be there? We finally got checked in… and then waited 20, 30, almost 40 minutes before being called back. The photographer was extremely dry, gave no posing cues, rushed us through, put us in about four poses, and told us to go change. My husband and I looked at each other confused, but we tried to trust the process—thinking surely she got something decent. We changed into our Christmas outfits and got the same low-energy experience. Other families in the lobby were clearly irritated too. When it was time to view our photos, I was so disappointed—half were blurry, things were out of place, and the photographer never said a word while taking them. Last year we got around 75 photos to choose from. This time? Ten. And again—half were blurry. I asked the photographer to come over because this was unacceptable. Families take time, money, and energy to do holiday photos. We drove 45 minutes to get there, and to be met with a “don’t care” attitude is wild. The manager initially came over nonchalant until I said I would just leave and contact corporate. Only then did she offer retakes—after telling us we’d have to wait another 30 minutes and re-change clothes. The retakes were okay, but nothing close to last year's experience. We will never return to this location.
