  They need to hire more customer assistance. There is no one to help you find things. Cashiers are almost non existent.

  If you have bad anxiety, dont go to this place. I can count on one hand the number of employees that I have actually had a good experience with, that were helpful, courteous, and kind, since they have been open. The others treat you like a criminal, staring at you, following you around, hiding behind racks, then they look away quickly when you spot them. Its very noticeable, and causes a lot of anxiety. I have spent a lot of freaking money at that place, and I dont need to steal anything, and its not fun to be treated like a thief simply for wanting to buy a pair of jeans. I couldnt even do that. SMDH. I will never step foot in there again. Ill order online only because I have a store card, they have good deals, and their customer service department is actually decent. The only problem I have had with online purchases that they have forgotten to take the electronic tags off of my purchases twice, now. The first time I took the item in, and they couldnt get it off, said they didnt have a tool, and of course I was made to feel like I had stolen them, even with a freaking receipt, not by my cashier, but by a couple of busybodie employees pretending to be working nearby. They are so blantantly obvious. So the second time, I called customer service and they exchanged them for free by mail, because I wasnt about to go back in there and be treated like that again, for someone elses mistake. Also, there's barely any selection in-store, and everything is always moved around and scattered about. Its all very confusing. -1/5

  I wish they would have more workers ... everyone in the store was having to check out in cosemetics.

  Returned an online purchase. Young man at counter was very friendly and considerate. No issues encountered. Man (possibly new employee) in shoe department was nice, but had not received sufficient training to be left alone in a department. When he handed me the shoes he walked away from the counter. I told him I was ready to purchase them and he said "oh! okay...". He rang them up, took the 30% off (they were on sale), added in my BRDs and ran my card. All would have been well, but the price the register charged for the shoes was $100 when they were priced $85. When I told him that he said, "well, the register rang up $100, so ..." I asked him to please get a manager who just happened to walk up at the right time. She told him the shoes needed to be taken off the shelf if the price was wrong, but they needed to honor the price for me which she was able to do. Still not a bad encounter - but Belk needs to ensure their staff is fully trained before leaving them alone in a department. I had someone sitting in the car waiting for me because I thought it would only take a second to get the shoes purchased and return to the car. Store was clean, every representative I ran in to was kind, no serious issues - concern was found and resolved. I will return and recommend Belk. Just watch your receipts!
