I’m giving this place a review 1 star but I wish I could put 0, because my time here — as both a customer and an employee — was extremely upsetting. The store’s environment is toxic and unprofessional. I regularly witnessed customers being spoken to rudely, talked about behind their backs, and treated like they were inconveniences rather than the reason the store exists.
Inside the workplace, the atmosphere was even worse. There were inappropriate comments, personal conversations that crossed boundaries, and behavior that made me and others feel deeply uncomfortable. Concerns were brushed off instead of being addressed. It became clear that respect and safety are not priorities here.
I left because I did not feel respected or valued. I no longer recommend this store to anyone, and I sincerely hope the leadership takes a hard look at how people are treated — both employees and customers — before more harm is done.

They take down posts about their racism and lack accountability. Will definitely not be seeing me come here. Very rude, exclusive, and discriminatory.

A friend and I came into the store just to look around and coincidentally were not greeted (we are both people of color) but every other white customer was greeted. Maybe just a coincidence, right? Wrong. The man behind the counter audibly talked negatively about me and my friend and when we decided to leave, the man smirked at us. Not a friendly/welcoming environment for any non-white people.

You only need one thing if you're gonna venture into Book Nook...Time. You might go in with a general idea of what you're looking for, but you always end up finding that something you didn't know you needed. So have money cause there's a lot of something to be found. Books (duh), movies (it's on the sign), music (so is this), comics (more than some comic shops), toys (surprisingly decent selection), and games (weakest offering, but still present). There's just so much cool STUFF!
...Okay I lied. You might need one more thing...hand sanitizer. No shade whatsoever, that just comes with the territory. That ancient residue old piles of stuff build up over the years will stick to you like wet clothes. But please, don't let that deter you. This is a genuinely great place with engaging staff ready to help and answer your questions as you wander the labyrinth of shelves.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have to wash my hoodie cause something from 1973 decided to come back home with me.
