  I've been dealing with belk for many years. I decided to place an order online for store pick up. Clinique makeup. So I picked it up and took it home and used it. It was something I hadn't used before and after using it I didn't like the product at all. It was their new vitamin foundation. I went back to the store to return it. Only to find out they wouldn't take it back. It was used and they couldn't resell it. The manager told me that's why they give samples of make up to their customers to take home and try first. However, I ordered for store pick up and they didn't give me a sample. Smh. I was very disappointed. These items are expensive and now I have something that I can't use and can't return. This is a heads up for whoever might need it. I'm probably going to go to Dillard's or Macy now.

  Dilraj was extremely rude and abrasive to my mother and I. We came in to return a sweatshirt I had gotten for Christmas and she immediately barked at us that we were unable to make a return of any kind without a receipt. It’s clearly stated on the counter that you can make a return without a receipt for a gift card, which was totally fine with us. We went to a different associate and she kindly helped us. Go to a different Belk because Dilraj sucks.

  I recently visited Belk to look for a dress for a Christmas party and had one of the most unprofessional and disrespectful experiences I’ve ever encountered in retail. I noticed a dress on a mannequin that I liked and asked an employee if I could try it on. She asked a coworker named Jennifer to take it down. As soon as Jennifer approached, she rudely asked if I was “really going to make her take it down just to try it on.” I said yes, since I needed to see how it looked on. She then told me it was a small and “wouldn’t fit” me. I had already checked and knew it was a medium. She insisted I was wrong, saying she “only puts smalls on the mannequins.” When we got to the mannequin, it was in fact a medium—yet she still told me it wouldn’t fit. I took the dress and walked away, but she followed me and yelled that the fitting rooms were in the opposite direction. I told her I was still shopping, yet she continued to stare at me from across the store. Feeling extremely uncomfortable, I asked to speak with a manager—only to find out she was one of the managers. I then asked for another manager and explained what happened, but the only response I received was that they would “talk to her.” I tried on the dress, and it did fit, but by then I was so upset by the entire interaction that I simply left. I have never written a bad review before, but this experience was unacceptable. No customer should be spoken to or treated this way. Belk needs to address this behavior immediately, especially from someone in a management position.
