I bought the Sam Edelman Signature Collection Kadin Mary Jane Flats from a DSW store for $162, and I wore them exactly once. After just one wear, the leather ripped, which is completely unacceptable for shoes at this price point. The quality is honestly very poor and nowhere near what I expected from this brand. I went back to the store to return them, but they refused because the shoes were “worn,” even though the damage happened during the first and only use. That tells me the issue is clearly a quality defect, not normal wear and tear. I don’t want this item at all. It feels like a total waste of money. What made the experience even worse was how the situation was handled. The store staff told me to contact customer support, but when I asked for the customer support number, the manager bluntly said they don’t have it and that they don’t have to return any product. That response was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Between the terrible quality of the shoes and the way this was handled in-store, this has been a very frustrating experience. I expected much better from both Sam Edelman and DSW, especially for a $162 pair of flats that couldn’t even last one wear.

I entered your store with a Macy’s bag. One of my reasons was to buy a pair of polo boots. And I did. When I began walking around the store, your manager noticed me, and she made another employee aware of my presence in your store. I was being watched because I had a Macy’s bag. What’s so disappointing about this entire situation? Is your store employee had no reason to suspect anything. Yet she began to watch me. I knew all this time that I was being watched, but I still purchased the polo boots that I came in the store to buy. Your employees or the employee in charge should be educated on loss prevention and profiling. The actions of these employees or the employee could very well put you in a very serious financial liability.
