  My family visited the JCPenney Portrait Studio (Wellington Green) on November 23rd for their Santa photo event, and my cousin and her family came the same day for the same event. We all spent a significant amount of money on prints, and my cousin purchased a membership (we already had one). On the receipt, it clearly states that a link would be sent to her email to create a Lifetouch account so she could view all of the photos and order more if she wanted. A few days later, I received my link without any issues—she did not. She called JCPenney Portraits and was told that because she didn’t purchase the digital album, she wouldn’t be getting a link at all. When she pointed out that the receipt explicitly says a link will be sent to view the photos, she was then told that “something was wrong with the Lifetouch website” and that she just needed to be patient. That turned into multiple calls, speaking to several “managers,” repeating the same story over and over, and getting nowhere. Each time, she got the same response about not purchasing the digital album, or no callback despite being told one would happen. Meanwhile, I did get my link, and neither of us bought a digital album—so the excuses didn’t even make sense. Out of frustration, she finally contacted Lifetouch directly. They escalated the issue and quickly confirmed the problem: JCPenney simply never attached her email to her order. Lifetouch couldn’t fix it on their end—JCPenney had to do it. She called the studio again, explained everything again for the fifth or sixth time, and was once again told, “You didn’t buy the digital album.” On 12/11/2025, a male employee even said, “We are busy, we’ll figure it out later,” and then hung up on her. I’m the one who recommended this studio to her for her baby’s first Santa photos. I’m the one who said they were professional. But this experience has shown the opposite. The staff doesn’t seem to understand their own policies or care enough to resolve issues. And honestly, my cousin is probably not the only one dealing with this—both JCPenney and Lifetouch are losing money from customers who would order additional prints, canvases, holiday cards, etc., if they could actually see their photos. If links are not going to be sent to customers unless they purchase a digital album, then that needs to be removed from the receipt entirely. Right now, it’s misleading and creates unnecessary frustration for both customers and staff. I’m writing this review on behalf of my cousin because she has an infant at home and has already wasted enough time trying to resolve a problem that should have been fixed on day one. This whole situation was incredibly disappointing, and I can’t recommend this studio after how poorly this was handled.

  I want to see JCP succeed. The store was clean and the customer service was excellent. Only disappointment was they ran out of coupons on Black Friday within 30 min of opening.
