⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We are very happy that St. Augustine now has a Bass Pro Shops. The location is obviously brand new, with easy access, good parking, and a clean, well-organized store. It’s a great place to stop and browse, and honestly a lot of fun just to snoop through all the different departments. They have everything covered — hunting, fishing, camping, cooking, clothing, and more. The store is beautifully decorated with an outdoor-world theme, including lots of nature-style displays and décor. The main front entrance is especially impressive, featuring a giant freshwater aquarium that is definitely a draw for both adults and kids. The staff we encountered were helpful, friendly, and informative. We also found the prices to be very good, especially during the Christmas season, with plenty of solid deals. The only issue we ran into was the women’s clothing selection — if you’re shopping for women’s sizes small or extra small, you’re pretty much out of luck at the moment. Overall, whether you’re visiting with family or picking up gear for your next adventure, this is a great addition to St. Augustine. Good job, Bass Pro Shops — we’ll definitely be back.

Zero customer service and rude employees. If you are looking for help or have questions, this is not the place to go. The front register employee was rude to my wife, and the fishing section employee clearly did not want to be there or help in any way, as he walked off after being asked if he could put line on a reel. Another employee at the register had zero knowledge of services or warranties during checkout. This was by far the worst group of employees I have ever encountered within any Bass Pro Shops store.

Terrible experience. They have a horrible system that prioritizes window shoppers or initial purchases, but once you purchase they don’t care about how long or how many trips it takes for you to pick up due to their incompetence. They also don’t allow pick up appointments if you purchase in store (only if you buy online). We purchased 2 guns on 12/20 & 12/21. We were told we could pick them up on 12/26. I specifically asked even with the new federal holidays set up 12/18 and was told it didn’t matter and we could pick up 12/26. The employee on 12/21 was also very rude to us. We drove 2 hours on 12/26 to pick up our guns to be told we had to wait until 12/30. Annoying, but we weren’t going to complain. Finally on 12/30, we checked in at 5:30 PM but we were told around 7:30 PM that we probably wouldn’t make it through the queue before they closed at 9 PM. They knew we were there to pick up, a process that takes 10 minutes when handled correctly. The employee told me to talk to the manager, even though I wasn’t complaining to him but only trying to understand what he was telling others around us. The manager, Debbie, was unprofessional and not willing to make any of their mistakes or process right at first. I was hoping for possibly an appointment or maybe near closing time they could take us on the side to pick up. After all, we were also in the queue and had been waiting 2+ hours at that point to pick up after already given an incorrect date once. We were unable to make appointments because we purchased in store, that luxury is only available for online purchases. She explained she couldn’t do anything and mentioned she didn’t know who made the first mistake, which at that point was the least of the issue since we were already past that point. We do have their name/picture of incorrect date, but again irrelevant to our 2nd pick up attempt. I did get slightly upset by her lack of accountability and expressed she is the manager and at that point useless to talk to since just kept shrugging at us (I did not yell, but I’m sure others could hear our conversation). She did then offer a $50 gift card which I wasn’t looking for, I wanted to be able to pick up my gun or make an appointment for us due to everything that has happened. But when she asked I was so flustered and said maybe to help cover some of the gas costs, she rushed up to the front and told the guy to give me a gift card and rushed off. No apology from her, no help to actually get our guns. Just told an employee to give me a gift card and stomped away like a teenager. We were still in queue so went back to the gun counter. The employee who specifically told us to talk to the manager got in trouble by Debbie and was crappy to us after that. He was talking bad about me to other customers, about how he would have called the cops on me (for calling them out on their mistakes and showing slight frustration). I originally told him we had no choice to wait after the long drive and 2nd attempt, and he specifically told us to talk to the manager so we did. We waited in the queue on 12/30 for 3.5 hours until closing and were unable to pick up our guns. They specifically did not call our name even 15 minutes before closing when we were next, they decided to ignore us and went in to the back area. They were unprofessional and upset because them telling us to speak to the manager backfired on them. Update - We drove the 2 hours for a 3rd pick up attempt today, 12/31. We waited in queue for 25 minutes and our name was called even though we were later in the queue. I asked about my name being called early and he said yes, they are prioritizing pick ups (ours and other complaints last night must have helped). Jackson and Cole were very nice and it took them 10 minutes total to handle. Very happy but at the same time that makes yesterday an even worse experience since they made us wait and drive out again just to do that. The gift card doesn’t even cover half of the cost in gas for the 3 trips due to their incompetence. Such a bad experience.

Purchased a firearm on the 21st of December. Was told we could pick up on the 26th. Came on the 26th and was promptly informed they were wrong and I had to wait until the 30th due to the govt. shutdown. Showed up at 5pm to pick up and stood around for 4 hours waiting to be helped. The virtual cue bumped me at least three times and ended up being told to leave the store without being helped again. I was being bumped by online purchasers who can make an appointment to pick up. I purchased in store so I can’t make an appointment. It’s a ridiculous system being ran by aggressive employees who threatened me with police action for questioning them on time frames.

You would have to be insane to purchase a firearm here. We started checking in at a kiosk to take a number. It was 2 hours before the number was called and then while waiting for the background check it was repeatedly suggested that I can just come back the next day once the back ground check has for sure come back. I would then have to take another number and wait in line for multiple hours to pick up something that is already cleared. I know background checks take time but the system to actually deal with a person is the most terrible I have ever seen. Update: day 2. Called at 12:30 and they said my background check was complete and I could come in to pick up. I arrived and went straight to the counter with receipt and ID as I was instructed to the day before. After 25 minutes I was finally asked if I needed help by an employee. I handed my receipt and ID to him and he said I would need to take a number and get in line. I said I need a refund immediately to which he said he’ll just take care of me. After another 15 minutes they came out and said they have to resubmit my paperwork to FDLE because the previous employee entered in my information incorrectly causing the 12 hour delay on background check. Every part of this interaction with this store has been a complete joke. Final: after several more hours I had to get a refund after I was around 9.5 hours in store and they just couldn’t get it done. The entire department should be closed down and all management fired.
