- GLGloria LiuNov 14, 20251.0Nov 8, I purchased a winter jacket from this store, and the cashier failed to remove the control tag. Surprisingly, the security alarm did not go off when I left the store. When I got home, I realized the tag was still attached. I immediately called the store on Nov 9 for assistance, and the call was answered by a woman who introduced herself as the Assistant Manager. However, instead of offering a reasonable solution, she simply told me I must drive all the way back to the store to have the tag removed. I explained that this was not my mistake, that I live 30–40 minutes away and had taken an Uber to the store. I asked whether there was any alternative solution — such as mailing a replacement item and arranging a pickup for the defective one, a practice I know other brands (such as Lululemon) can provide. The Assistant Manager dismissed my request and said, “This kind of crazy thing.” I found that statement extremely rude and unprofessional. There is nothing “crazy” about asking a company to take responsibility for their own mistake. She also said she could “retrain the cashier” but otherwise could not help me, except for offering a 20% discount if I come back and shop again within three months — which is absolutely unreasonable and irrelevant. I spent my entire day today trying to find someone to remove this tag safely. This experience was incredibly frustrating, disappointing, and far below the service standards I would expect from Columbia. I would not recommend this store to anyone after such treatment.
