  Awful store. Went here and asked the person in the men's department what a satin tie was and they had no idea. They looked at me and shrugged saying"these are the ties we have". 2 weeks later I purchased some gifts here. When the person went to return a gift for in store credit they refused to give in store credit even though they didn't bring my credit card, and just returned the money to my card. The sign clearly states that they give in store credit and I had to call corporate customer service to complain and open a case. I don't leave many reviews but the attitude and overall care the employees have for customers is terrible. It's not their fault I'm sure JC penny doesn't pay them enough to care.

  I bought the 10K white gold rope chain (20-inch) from JCPenney for about $210 on sale — they claimed it retailed for over $650. Within less than a week, the chain snapped, and when I went back to return it, the associate told me not to because “gold prices are high” and I could supposedly resell it for more than I paid. That advice was completely false. After weighing it myself, the chain is only 1.55 grams, and since 10K gold is just 41.7% pure, that means it only contains about 0.65 grams of actual gold. With gold currently around $132 per gram, that puts the real metal value at roughly $85 — less than half of what I paid and nowhere near the inflated $650 “retail” tag. The chain also broke again soon after being repaired. It’s hollow, flimsy, and very lightweight. There’s a reason stores like this don’t display jewelry weight — if they did, customers would instantly see how little gold they’re actually getting for the price. Overall, the markup is massive, the quality is poor, and the sales pitch was misleading. If you’re buying gold jewelry for real value or durability, avoid JCPenney — you’re paying premium prices for presentation, not genuine gold content.

  Thank you JCPenney for having someone like Jennifer (register in Mens Dept.). Thank you for your patience and eagerness to help me. I really appreciate that she was there to help me. I had coupons, that I left in my car and my phone wasn't getting service for the rewards but she was professional, patient, helpful and all with a smile. Thank you!!!!
