Dannie & Opal Slavin opened Family Hobby Center in 1965. It has always been family owned and operated. We have seen many changes in the 47 years of business in Naples, from escapement and reed radios to the new Spread Spektrum technology. Today the technology is better and the prices are lower. Carey & Kathy bought the business in 1982 from Careys parents. Carey is mechanically inclined and was raised in the store. Kathy married into the arts & crafts but has over 30 years of hands on knowledge of art supplies & craft products. Amy was also raised in the store. She is currently updating the store with new technology without losing the small town friendly knowledge and service Naples is used to from Family Hobby Center.
