Extremely uncomfortable experience. The staff followed us around the entire time like we were criminals. That’s not customer service that’s profiling. Very disappointing for a so-called luxury brand. I won’t be coming back.

I visited the Ralph Lauren Midtown Miami store for the first time and was unfamiliar with the layout. When I entered, it appeared to be primarily women’s merchandise. I walked toward the center of the store and approached a sales associate with braids to ask if there was a men’s department at this location. She told me it was upstairs. Before going upstairs, I wanted to confirm whether they had an item I was specifically looking to purchase. I described it as a slide or slipper-style sandal with patchwork detailing. Her response was, “We don’t sell slides,” said with a smile that felt dismissive rather than helpful. I apologized in case I wasn’t using the correct terminology and described the item again, asking if she was familiar with what I meant. She then said yes, they carry them upstairs. The entire exchange felt awkward, condescending, and lacking basic customer service. Instead of helping a customer unfamiliar with the store, the interaction made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. Because of this experience, I won’t be returning to this location. One of the most disappointing retail experiences I’ve had. When I got home, I looked up the exact product name and confirmed it is called the Turbach Logo-Patch Suede Clog Sandal, which made the interaction even more frustrating. She clearly knew what I was referring to, yet chose not to provide clear or respectful assistance. “EDIT”: I checked the Ralph Lauren website and saw that they do in fact sell slides, including the Pony Slide and the Saber Slide, which made the associate’s comment that they “don’t sell slides” feel 100% unnecessary.

Although the staff was courteous, the level of service fell short of expectations. I sought assistance regarding an older credit and was informed that the matter would be reviewed by the manager. After a brief review, the manager concluded that it was “no longer useful,” without guidance, or possible alternatives. I made the effort to visit the location in person expecting support, yet the issue was dismissed with minimal engagement. No follow-up or attempt to resolve the situation was offered. For a service-oriented business, professionalism should extend beyond politeness to include accountability, problem-solving, and meaningful customer support. Unfortunately, that standard was not met in this instance.
