The counter for background checks is incredibly unorganized... my check came back and I was told it was approved (only took 20 minutes once the form was filled out on the state side) after waiting over an hour just to fill our the form. The attendant told me I had to wait in line again that... "waiting is the name of the game". This is my last purchase at the counter and any online purchase of this type at BPS. The gentleman Yan was nice, but this place is slow and not customer friendly.

** Gun Buyers Beware ** I am writing this to hopefully save you from the excruciating frustration I suffered.
I arrived at 5:30PM to pick up an online order for a rifle I had paid for and checked in to the texting queue. Understanding the waits can be long my wife and I went to get something to eat and go to the bathroom. At 7:20PM I received the text notifying I was next in line. Within 2-3 minutes we made our way back to the counter letting the salesperson know we were next. He responded that they called my name and because I was not there when the name was called they took the next customers but would see me after that customer was finished. Now the texting queue system implies, given the long wait, that you are not expected to be at the counter waiting the entire approx 2 hour wait and there would be some grace period to return to the counter. What would be the point of the texting queue otherwise? While I thought it was fair that they see the next customer and then me immediately after, given I wasn't there, to keep things efficient, this is not what happened. Instead of doing what they promised they preceded to completely ignore me and continue to see the next customer one after the other. I spoke to two other salespeople at the counter and they reassured me again they would see me soon. It was now 8:40PM and the store closed at 9PM. At this point, it was apparent to my wife that they had blatantly lied and were deferring me off to the end to tell me they couldn't help me as the store was closing. She turned to the salesperson to speak and before she could even say a word he said, in a combative tone, "I was doing you a courtesy putting you last in the que. You weren't here when I called you". How is that courtesy, I could have checked in right then and there and had the same place in the que. Before even arguing I cut him off and said never mind - I am cancelling the order and getting a refund. To that he said in a snide tone "good luck with that". My wife stormed over to customer service and conveyed everything that had happened to the store manager. The store manager seemed furious with the employee who had treated us this way and apologized profusely to us. They asked what they could do to reconcile the issue and I politely asked for a refund, cancelling the order.I don't believe the behavior of this firearms/hunting department is reflective of the rest of the store's customer service. But this department clearly has a broken system and poor sales staff. Buying a gun shouldn't be like a nightmare experience at the DMV. I highly recommend, even if it costs more, to take your business to a local/mom & pop firearms dealer. It is truly not worth the frustration to purchase a firearm at Bass Pro shop. Give your hard earned money and time to a business that treats you with dignity and respect and can't afford to lose your sale over poor business practices.

Terrible experience the day before Christmas Eve drove over an hour to take a picture with Santa and the staff was so rude, didn’t let us take a picture by literally 2 minutes supposedly late and there wasn’t even a long line. Just rude and unpleasant. By the way, I was with my two daughters who got dressed up for this and were excited. Your wonderful employee told me he wouldn’t let us in because “Santa was in a mood”. Petty and pathetic! 0 stars and do yourselves a favor, get better staff.

I typically enjoy my time at Bass Pro, but today I truly felt disrespected. I was shopping near the apparel section when this heavyset woman approached me and made me feel uncomfortable. She kept on asking me questions and it almost felt like she was assuming I was up to no good. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable in a situation until today. I tried walking away, but it seemed like she was trying to follow me. I didn’t end up buying anything and left the store. Her name tag read Miriam, so shoppers stray away from her.
