Even if the customer did raise her voice or was being rude to workers/or manager, it does not give the manager the right to be rude. I've been a manager and had to deal with people being rude. At times we would love to express how we feel when a customer is treating us badly, but as a worker, we represent the company, not ourselves. Let the customer let of steam, then ask the customer to step to the side and deal with them, instead of arguing with the customer in front of other customers.
