Plato’s Closet is a pretty store and well organized, but it’s disappointing that, like many thrift stores, the men’s section is extremely small—maybe 2% of the store—while the rest is dedicated to women’s clothing. It makes shopping feel very limited if you’re a man. Also, the employees didn’t really smile or seem welcoming, which affects the overall experience. Nice-looking place, but the atmosphere and lack of balance in merchandise could definitely be improved.

Meh. Nice items are basically trashed by careless, poor placement of security tags - giant holes made by security tag needles in middle of knit fabrics. Not sure if destroying the fabric of $10 athletic wear is overcoming the store’s theft losses.

This is one of my least favorite Plato's closets, to be honest. The majority of the clothes here could be described as "sorority fast fashion" (which does make sense with the Gainesville demographics) - and good luck getting them to buy anything you have or finding anything to wear there unless it fits that aesthetic. I don't feel the store is particularly well-organized/labeled and the shelves are constantly overstocked. It's difficult to browse when there isn't space to move hangers aside one at a time to get a good look at the clothes. The store overall feels overstuffed. The lighting and atmosphere are not particularly nice, especially in the dressing rooms. Other Plato's put effort into making it more of a formal clothing store experience and are more selective about the pieces they take. Also, the point system is insane. You have to spend I think $10 = 1 pt while my favorite Plato's is $1 = 1 pt and I get lots of % off options almost every time I go into the the other store. This store does NOT have prices good enough or clothes good enough to not offer $1 = 1 pt - it's insane. This is just a glorified goodwill imo. The staff are generally friendly and helpful though! I've never had a problem any time I've come in.
