  With the boat/kayak ramp at Koreshan State Park under recontruction (since November), the ranger directed us to Estero River Outfitters where we could launch for free. Arrived to find 100s of kayaks for sale and the one of the friendliest staffs we have ever encounted. AL, MAX, and HOGAN helped us get our kayaks onto the water (3 feet drop from their wharf at low tide) and helped us in. They then helped us get out of our kayaks when we returned. And, of course, the Estero River is great for kayaking in both directions from the Outfitters.

  A lovely experience, my kayak was very comfortable, the choice of where to paddle, up or down river were both a great experience. The day was a little cooler than usual, which I loved, but maybe not liked by the creatures as I did not see many. I did, however, see a bobcat slinking through the woods and that was a thrill, as well as turtles, large and small, and many beautiful birds onshore and in the air. I can't wait to go again!
