  I came in to purchase some bras after seeing an online sale and ended up making both an in-store purchase as well as an online order while I was in the store. The associate who assisted me was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. However, at checkout she informed me that their manager does not like them giving out shopping bags and instead requires customers to purchase a reusable bag if they would like one. I even pointed to the paper bags behind the counter and was told, “No, sorry, we can’t our manager doesn’t like us giving those out.” The associate seemed genuinely embarrassed and continued to apologize for something that was clearly out of her control. I found this policy to be very unprofessional especially considering I was making a purchase in-store. While the associate provided great customer service, requiring customers to buy a bag for items they just purchased does not reflect well on the overall in-store experience.

  Spectacular customer service, especially from Melanie. Was greeted and felt very welcomed by every employee. Definitely coming back. The staff are so helpful, I imagine the negative reviews on here are from ppl who let their kids run around stores unattended.

  I went to American Eagle with my girlfriend to return an item, and the employee was incredibly rude and unprofessional. She refused to help with the return or even offer store credit, even though the online policy said it could be done. Instead of explaining things politely, she called my girlfriend rude and sensitive — which was completely unnecessary since my girlfriend never cursed or raised her voice. The way we were treated was unacceptable. We left feeling disrespected and frustrated. Definitely not the kind of service you’d expect from American Eagle.

  I went to American Eagle to return an item and had a really bad experience. The associate was extremely rude — she called me rude and sensitive even though I never cursed or raised my voice. I just wanted to understand why I couldn’t get a refund or even store credit, especially since online it clearly says I can return in-store. Instead of helping, she dismissed me and sent me over to the Aerie cashier without trying to resolve the issue. I’ve always liked shopping here, but after being treated that way, I don’t feel comfortable coming back.
