I was shopping with my daughters. Both in the cart.I had a few glass items in the cart. My daughter was admiring the little teapots we were getting. Unfortunately the plate I had in there slid and went through the back of the cart where there is a huge gap and fell and broke. Now is where the attack happens. A male employee walks up and I explained the plate broke, if I can get a broom please I can clean it and pay for the damages. He had a nasty demeanor about him the moment he walked up, instead of asking if everything was ok, he first asked in a rude tone “well how did this happen? “ To which I exclaimed, it doesn’t matter how , I would just like to clean it up , as I assumed responsibility even though the cart had a huge gap but whatever. Then he proceeds to say, well I know how it happened I watched the whole thing. ( then why ask me) yes I had my daughter in the cart, yes she was playing with the teapot(that was not what broke) no, she did not intentionally throw anything for it to break. This employee which I later found out was the manager continued to berate me and put me down about how I don’t watch my kids . I was upset about how he acted towards me in that moment. When you see a mother with two kids shopping, you shouldn’t shame her for trying to live and be normal , especially in goodwill. I was watching my kids, things can happen within a blink of an eye , anywhere to anyone. As I was leaving he was as explaining how he’s old enough to be my father and something about respect. Just because you may be older than me. Doesn’t mean you automatically deserve respect. Now it could be the sheer fact that I was visibly Muslim with a Muslim veil ( hijab) on and maybe that’s why he was so nasty towards me. But I think this man needs to go back to the drawing board and really learn what customer service is. I’m not saying the customer is always right, I’m just saying have some human decency, don’t make the life harder on people than it already is. Show care instead of immediate blame and jumping to conclusions . I left very upset, I drove home in tears because of poorly I was treated as a mother who is already struggling , show some compassion

Love my local Goodwill but the prices are great and the workers very helpful and friendly. They don't price gouge like other Goodwill stores. Most things are under $10.00, even with new tags. Happy shopper.

I have not gone there lately. It seems the employees there are not very nice.
Plus the old ladies that are there all day are not nice as well. They just give me dirty looks when i'm in there.
I i was there last week when one of the employees was yelling at a customer and it was very disturbing.
It was the lady with the curly hair and the glasses. I go to other goodwill's in Broward County and they are always very kind. When I walk in the door is always is smiling and says welcome.
