  Born in Greenwich 68 years ago. I grew up with all the 'old stores' - all good in their own ways. But Gorjana is quite different. I was 'complaining' to a merchant up the street that I found myself having to go to Tiffany or Betteridge or Shreve yet again. Everything with a heavy, old fashioned, 'important' feel. Beautiful, but dated. I needed a very special gift for my young Granddaughter. She's six, so I obviously care a lot about what her eye sees, what her hands feel, and the emotions a piece of art or jewelry make her feel. Her Mom is actually a jewelry and accessories designer. This person said I had to go to Gorjana. That I would be pleased. I was. Everything has a wonderfully light and airy feel. Their 'costume' is beautiful, and the 14 and 18k pieces are extraordinary. Full of imagination and whimsy. There is not a 'heavy' piece in the store. I know my gemstones, particularly diamonds. Their diamonds speak to you from 5 feet away. And I am not describing huge or large stones. They are magical, twinkling and alive and almost take flight while you are looking at them. Lighter than air. Sometimes, at different stores, we're lucky to get a sales associate who just gets it right. Here? Annabelle was that person and much more. She is young and delightful; she describes each piece wonderfully and advises naturally and honestly. She made my shopping experience a very special one and made me feel so comfortable. A real gem. I knew - on my way out the door with my perfect little Christmas gift for my Granddaughter - I would be back many times. Yes, the jewelry is just wonderful, but Annabelle sealed the deal. I returned days later for another gift, hoping to catch Annabelle again to help me with my decision. She was not in the store. So I met and worked with Suzanne. She was extraordinary in her own way. She created a digital wish-list for me to reference and refer back to when I needed it. She sent it to my email. A working list of favorites to refer back to and add to. And it's in their computer system in the store. Gorjana is a wonderful place. Don't miss it. Tons of fun to shop there. In many ways it's like walking into a little magic shop. Douglas Thomas.

  I wasn't planning on writing a review, but after seeing previous reviews of people praising customer service, I want to share my experience, because I'm sure I'm not alone. My first time going into this store, I was immediately bombarded and followed around by a sales associate. I knew she was just doing her job, so I was polite and as friendly as possible. I told her that my mom and I were just browsing and didn't need any help. She left us to shop for about a minute before following us around again, hovering over us while we browsed (literally inches from my body), joining in on our private conversations, and every time one of us looked like we had any interest in any of the jewelry, she tried to sway us to buy something similar, but way out of our price range (something I kept mentioning politely, but she ignored). She did not recommend one plated jewelry item, which is what we said we were looking for, only fine jewelry. She kept us in the store for about half an hour and was persistently pushing us to buy several different expensive pieces of jewelry. I felt so pressured to buy something that I ended up buying two items. My mom and I left and continued shopping in town. About an hour later, we were talking about how pushy this sales rep was and I realized that I bought the jewelry because I felt pressured, not because I actually saw myself wearing them. My mom convinced me to go back into the store and return them that same day, which I initially felt uncomfortable doing because I didn't want to deal with this rep again. I went in and told her that I changed my mind on the jewelry and wanted to return them for a refund back on my card. No surprise, the woman spent a good five minutes trying to convince me not to or to exchange for another two items or store credit, all with the most theatrical look of disappointment on her face. Totally manipulative and guilt tripping. She had the audacity to ask me why I changed my mind so she could give me reasons as to why I was "wrong". She eventually went forward with the refund, but continued giving me the same disappointed look until we left the store. I haven't been back and I will never go back. One of the most uncomfortable shopping experiences I've ever had. Customers should never feel guilty for not buying anything or for returning items. I tried out the store in Westport and had to leave after five minutes because the sales reps there were standing there watching my every move, too. My overall takeaway is that they must feel pressure from their managers to patrol customers and make sales. I'm sure they're helpful if you actually need help finding a piece and have no budget, but if customers are simply just browsing, please leave them to browse. There's no need to follow me around the store and interrupt my private conversations to pressure me into buying things.

  Love the jewelry here! It's such a great gift for anyone and you can easily find things for a reasonable price. The staff are very nice and make me feel always welcomed!

  I’ve been to this location before had a great experience and came back today! Olivia was AMAZING. She was so patient with me and helped pick out my new favorite pieces! :)
