  Wonderful service. They repaired my vintage engagement ring shank to as new condition. I had taken it to another jewelry store in my town and they used white gold instead of platinum to re-tip my prongs even after I told them it was platinum. Jewelry design could not fix the other jeweler’s work, however, they were able to repair the shank with platinum and even gave me the old shank back. It’s wonderful to find a jeweler that you can trust with your precious jewelry.

  This is a first rate full service jewelry manufacturer and showroom. They are fully capable of creating original customized designs manufactured from scratch. I know of no other place like this.

  Recently moved to the area and was looking for a nearby jeweler to size a couple of fairly simple/dainty rings. I had purchased them in Italy and the shop there would have sized them but I wasn't going to be in town long enough. Brought them here and the front of store person took them to the back to be looked at by one of the technicians. She came back and told me that according to the stamps inside, they were gold plated and could not be sized. I was confused and actually a bit embarrassed because I purchased them believing them to be solid 18k gold. But they were 100% sure. Then I thought: how could the jeweler who sold them to me have sized them if this were the case? So I went home, got a clear picture of the stamp, and google lensed it. It took all of 2 minutes for me to learn that the stamp actually indicates where in Italy the workshop that produced the rings is located. Turns out to be a pretty common thing with Italian jewelry. I ended up taking the rings a bit further to my trusted jeweler in Stamford and they have sized them with zero issues. All that said... while they have some beautiful pieces for sale in the store, their lack of knowledge resulting in giving me bad information, making me feel unjustifiably embarrassed because of it, and the ease with which anyone could have found the correct meaning of the stamp leads me to a 2 star review.

  There really is no better place for your engagement and wedding rings than Jewelry Designs. I got the engagement ring for my now-wife there with the help of Gary, who worked extremely diligently with me through the process to make sure that every detail was unique and perfect. I even got to watch the ring-creation process with their craftsmen, which is an awesome experience! When it came time to get our wedding rings, we had moved to Washington D.C, but still wanted to work with the JD team because we knew there wasn't going to be better service out there. We got to work with Gary again, who walked us through our options both over the phone and in person when we came back to CT to visit for a short while. Everyone at the store was incredibly kind to us, and walking in their doors felt more like arriving to a house full of your friends. It's clear how much time and energy they put into making their jewelry the best, and they even cleaned up my wife's engagement ring quickly and for free! We had the pleasure of working with Gary for our ring buying process, but I'm sure that no matter who helps you, you're not going to get a better experience than at Jewelry Designs.
