  This place has gone down TERRIBLY. I live right across the street and loved coming into JCPenney I prefer this location over the orchards one or I used to anyway! Whenever I came to purchase jewelry I loved shopping with Danette she always showed me the most fabulous pieces now she’s gone and it’s an older Hispanic lady who’s always on her phone or some teenager lord help us!! Now Celina is someone I have had issues with in the past anytime I’ve had an issue with a coupon or pricing and the kiddo at the register calls for a manager and it’s that lady I’d rather not purchase anything at all!! At most she will give you 10% off even if the coupon expired 10hrs ago she’ll be smacking her gum in your face (how professional) and say “yeah sorry that’s the best I can do” yeah right. And for the biggest downfall in my opinion for the store. Management. Stephanie who has worked there for as long as I’ve been shopping there was openly talking to me about our current POS president leave politics out of work environments! Aneta is one of the scariest looking ladies I’ve ever encountered while shopping at this pennys she is not friendly at all and I even first hand experienced her telling a worker that a customer needed help right around the corner where I had been previously standing the girl goes to help the “customer” and shocker no one was there, the girl goes back to Aneta the scary head manager and tells her no one’s there and this lady lies and says she must have left!!! What in the actual world I saw her lie to this poor young girls face and then carry on like nothing! That is insane she should train her other managers better instead of lying to the young workers about going to help customers out when no one is even there! And the fact that have “security” follows you around if you are a poc. This store is a joke now and I am actually canceling my pennys credit card because I refuse to shop at an establishment that has terrible management. Aneta or Celina if this review ever gets back to you do better!

  I returned a few items last night purchased at the Aurora Mall store. I arrived at the Men's counter the young man looked at me and looked away. He realized I was still standing there and then turned his attention to me. He took a couple items out of my bag and then takes a phone call. He began scanning my items and when he was done he says, "just so you know, we do not take back shoes that have been worn." I reply stating the shoes have not been worn. He repeats his comment and shows me the bottom of the shoes. The tip of the shoes were slightly dark but there were no signs of wear. I inform him that I purchased the last pair that were on display, the shoes have not been worn, I don't know whythe tip is dark but that is how I purchased them. He repeats his comment. I take the shoe from his hand to tell him that if they had been worn the sticker would be damaged and the soles of the shoes would be dirty which they weren't. He grabs the shoe and says forget it! He needs to be educated on what "worn" shoes look like and I told him that. I went to the shoe section and I can definitely say, there were several pairs of "worn" shoes for sale. 02/11/26 5:58 pm reg 296 emp 0066

  I would like to submit a complaint regarding my experience at the JCPenney checkout today at approximately 5:16 PM. I was waiting in line for more than 10 minutes at the customer checkout area near the multi-level parking entrance on Level 1. During this time, I was standing quietly and patiently waiting for my turn while checking my phone. While I was waiting, the cashier working at the checkout (a staff member with red hair who had been speaking Spanish with the customer in front of me) suddenly addressed me in an angry tone and told me that I could go to another checkout. I was surprised because I was simply waiting in line like other customers. I asked why I was being told to move, as I had parked near that entrance and was waiting my turn. The cashier responded by saying that she could ask whatever she wanted, again in an angry tone. I felt uncomfortable and upset by this interaction. As an Asian customer, the experience made me feel unfairly treated and discriminated against while I was simply trying to complete my purchase. I believe all customers should be treated politely and respectfully, regardless of their ethnicity. I ask that this matter be taken seriously and that staff be reminded to communicate respectfully and professionally with all customers.
