This is a review of LLBean the corporate company -- since there is no way to leave a review to the company, I wanted to warn consumers and shoppers about an LLBean practice that is unethical, and fraudulent.
I had returned LLBean products within the return window -- I chose the "return to original payment method" but LLBean instead sent me a merchandise credit IN THE MAIL. Significantly delaying returning my funds [and essentially withholding my funds when I have completed the return].
This is not the first time -- a few years ago, they did the same thing -- and let me be clear, *I have shopped online with LLBean TWICE ever, and both times, the returns had requested "return to original payment method" and both times, merchandise credits were issued despite the clear instruction. The return protocol seems to suggest, from this pattern of behavior, that LLBean instructed its employees to intentionally return merchandise credit despite customer request of refund to original payment method, thereby increasing the inconvenience for customers to correct this -- I am sure LLBean got away with not returning people's funds. Merchandise credit essentially means LLBean still holds your money, can make interest off of it, and in the event you forgot about this, they get to keep that money.
Very deceptive, unethical and fraudulent.
