Bought a gun safe and there was no key. The box with the safe came straight from an employee who got it from the warehouse. Upon closer inspection the box had definitely been opened before. I’m not sure if it was a manufacturer problem or not but either way it is in Cabela’s for not checking that the safe had the keys included in the box. I only found out the key wasn’t in the packaging once it had been unboxed and placed in the desired location. Customer service suggested I bring back the entire safe and exchange it.

Cabela’s on Ridgegate Parkway is horrible. My shopping experience was absolutely dismal. Sales people when asked a question seemed to be bothered. They would use their fingers to point you in direction of what you’re looking for without offering any assistance. The place was absolutely not busy. I went into the gun room and two guys were just there sitting in chairs. I asked them for help in finding an item and they never got out of their chairs to assist. They just told me where I should go and look. But not specifically. So then I ended up at the counter in the ammo area. That guy at least pointed me in the right direction and area. No one around to offer any assistance. Anyway, I think that door sucks. Lots of other stores to shop for what I’m looking for. I will not be going back to Cabela’s. They suck!

Ok selection. Some employees really know their stuff and others pretend to. I wish the guy I dealt with would just say “I don’t know but I can ask”
Instead of giving me wrong information which is what happened but in general the people there are nice

If you've been to a Bass pro store, it's kind of like that except a little bit smaller. it's pretty much a One-Stop shop deal for all things related to The Great outdoors. there's an extensive camping department with all the associated goods from stoves, pots and pans, freeze-dried food, coolers, drinkware, camping chairs, tents, sleeping bags, day packs, backpacks, first aid kits, you get the idea. idea. there's the fishing section! there's tackle for every discipline from fly fishing, spinning gear, bait casting equipment, soft baits, live bait, spinning lures, crankbaits, spoons... oh, and did I mention the thousands of square feet dedicated just to clothing one area? that's kind of surprisingly limited is their firearm selection. for things that go bang, you're going to want to head up to the Bass pro shop. (which owns Cabela's now)

My husband and I had a very disappointing experience at the gun counter today due to the behavior of an employee named Rex.
We checked in at the kiosk and were waiting when Rex asked if we were there for something unrelated to purchasing or viewing a firearm. We explained that we had a quick question. He immediately responded by saying, “There is no quick question,” in a very rude tone, rolling his eyes and acting dismissively.
When we explained what we needed help with, Rex told us that assisting us would “piss off the other people” waiting. He then rudely redirected us to the gun library to speak with Dennis. Dennis—and everyone working in the gun library—was excellent and very helpful. After hearing our issue, Dennis advised us to speak with a manager at the gun counter.
When we were escorted back to speak with a manager, Rex intervened and claimed he had already helped us and said we could “argue all day.”
My husband and I remained respectful and understanding despite how busy they were, but that does not excuse an employee being rude to customers who are waiting. Rex also presented himself as a manager, though we were later informed by another employee that he was not. We eventually received assistance from Randy, who was excellent and resolved our issue in under five minutes. Overall, we were disappointed with our experience today.
