    I use to absolutely love to shop at the #Belmar #Colorado #Norstroms . I believe that the quality has changed for some reason in the merchandise. I also think that the merchandising professionals, do not put the same care into the appearance of their merchandise at this particular store. I've looked forward to shopping for my typical load of at least $300 per Christmas & New Years haul of some of the most beautiful quality of jewelry in the area. The quality was even great during the other times of the year. This Christmas 2025 absolutely put a stop to my traditional shopping spree for jewelry. There was nothing but junky cheap looking jewelry, there was hardly any stock at all .. #NorstomRack they sliced their jewelry department into half the size of what use to be. I probably would've understood cutting ✂️ down the size of the department, if they would have kept their higher-end jewelry, but they didn't, and I even mentioned it to an employee... And they either doesn't care anymore... and/or knows that other customers feel the same way as I feel. I could always depend on Norstom Rack to buy both my gifts for others, and all the special designer jewelry I use to buy. I was so upset, and desperate to find the gifts I needed asap, that I walked into a nearby "Ross For Less" near by. I couldn't even believe my own eyes... The brand's of all the beautiful earrings, that Norstrom Rack use to sale... we're in their small jewelry dept @ Ross's. I felt like I hit the Christmas 🎄 jack-pot... as I bought many pieces. The funny thing is I would've never attempted to shop there before, all because I thought it would only have cheaper looking products. Boy'e was ever wrong... to my surprise it was much better quality than at Norstrom Rack in Belmar. Now I know to start shopping months in advance, and probably online for sales at better stores who carry everything I need, in order to find the quality that Norstrom Rack use to carry. I'm sad though how things have changed so much, and I use to feel like a valued #Norstroms customer and happy with my purchases. The staff use to be extremely cheerful and helpful, however I'm sure they feel rather helpless and frustrated as employees and wished that customers were more satisfied.     I’ve never felt the need to leave a review for Nordstrom Rack before, but what happened deserves to be documented — especially because minutes before this incident, I received an email inviting me to the company’s holiday party. That made what followed even more disheartening. I purchased a pair of pants on 11/30 on my way to an event. I expected better quality from Nordstrom, which is why I chose Rack over Target that day. The moment I put them on, they ripped in multiple places — completely falling apart like tissue paper. Embarrassing, but I figured it was a defective item and planned to simply return it the next day (12/01). Instead, I was met with the rudest customer service I’ve ever experienced from an employee named Marie T. Before even hearing the situation, she immediately implied the damage was my fault. She said, “It’s like a dog or animal damaged them,” even after I told her I don’t have a dog and had just purchased them less than 24 hours earlier. She insisted I bought them “a few days ago,” which was simply not true. She called her manager loudly — creating a scene, making me retell the story in front of a line of people, and repeating incorrect details as if she was trying to paint a narrative. Her manager arrived, gave her a “really?” look, rolled his eyes, and told her to damage the item out — clearly understanding this was a simple defective return, not whatever story she was trying to build. And then came the part that said everything. As soon as she pulled up my card and saw my membership status, her entire energy switched. Zero poker face. Suddenly she wanted to be welcoming. Suddenly she wanted to be friendly. Suddenly she wanted to act like I belonged there. She even paused to do a second look at my outfit — you could see the mental gymnastics of trying to recover from her initial judgment. It was classic conscious bias: she assumed who I was, what I could afford, and what my intentions were the moment I was at her register. And only when she realized I wasn’t who she assumed — then she changed her tune. That’s what made this experience so disappointing. Not everyone who has money flaunts it. Not everyone who shops at Nordstrom looks a certain way. And treating customers based on snap judgments is the opposite of a “champagne experience.” Defective items happen. But nobody should feel embarrassed, accused, or talked down to — especially not in a place that prides itself on customer service. I’ve shopped at Nordstrom for years, and I’ve never left feeling so disrespected. I hope leadership reads this, because it wasn’t about a return. It was about how easily someone’s dignity can be dismissed by an employee who decided she knew my story before I even opened my mouth.
