  Added a an “Add-On Public Improvement Fee” and a “Credit Public Improvement Fee” onto my bill without telling me. The total for these two fees was $315. Absolutely ridiculous. If you want to shop at a Murdochs, it would be more cost effective to shop at a different location where they don’t charge these fees. You’ll pay less in gas driving to a further location vs shopping at the Johnstown location.

  I Love Murdoch’s but the female manager at the Johnstown store is rude & unfriendly definitely not a people person she needs an attitude adjustment do you have a class you can send her too? Could use some friendly smiles at the registers too Soo sad

  Do not pay with cash. They will not accept pennies or even enter correct change into register. My total came to $6.33; I gave 20-dollar bill and 6 nickels and 3 pennies in change ($20.33 so I would get all bills and not change back). Cashier accepted the $20.30 but would not accept the 3 pennies something about it rounding up. I was going to give another nickel, but she was already giving me cash back $13.65 (should have been $14). Knowing I gave exact change of $0.33 I gave back the $0.65 telling her I should not receive any coins. Not till I got home did I looked at the actual receipt and she did not enter that I paid $20.33, but only $20.

  I’ve always loved the merch at this store — the country and western clothing is super cute, and I’ve shopped here many times. But after my most recent experience, I don’t think I’ll be coming back. My husband bought me an early Christmas gift, a ring from this store. As soon as I put it on at home, it literally fell apart and broke. I went back to try to return it, and the whole process was extremely frustrating. First, the staff gave me a hard time and said they needed to ask a manager if returns were allowed once the item leaves the store. Then another girl walks up — not even a manager — and asks me to explain the entire story again. After I did, she just said she needed to go get a manager (which I had already been told) and when I asked if she was a manager, she responded with a smart attitude, said “yep,” and walked away. Not professional at all. The manager eventually came out and was also not friendly or welcoming. Overall, the staff here just seem rude and not customer-service oriented at all. I love the items they sell, but their jewelry is clearly cheaply made, and the experience with their employees really left a bad taste in my mouth. I honestly will probably drive an hour to the next closest location instead of coming here again. The products are great, but the customer service at this store is absolutely not. And the young lady that WAS NOT the manager, the one who wasted my time, her name was Katherine.
