I stopped by the Sportsman’s Warehouse in Grand Junction on a Tuesday afternoon with a shopping list for several items: gear, shoes, and camping stuff. I ended up leaving with only one item (a pair of shoes), and honestly I wanted to leave those behind.
The store was completely deserted of both customers and employees. I spent more than 15 minutes trying to find someone to help with a few items on my list and couldn’t get assistance from anyone. Eventually I gave up and took the one item I had to the checkout.
When the cashier asked if I found everything I needed, I said no -- I had a long list but couldn’t get any help. The response was a silent shrug before completing the transaction.
That experience makes it hard for me to want to shop at Sportsman’s Warehouse again.

Not as busy as the bigger places. But they have a great outdoor selection of stuff for camping, reloading, archery. And everything between.
