I visited the store today to look at purchasing a firearm and had a really disappointing experience in the gun department. The employee helping me clearly wasn’t knowledgeable about the products, couldn’t answer basic questions, and handled the situation unprofessionally. When someone is considering a firearm purchase, confidence, respect, and competence matter, and none of that was there today. Management seriously needs to improve training and ensure qualified staff are in this department. I left feeling frustrated and chose not to purchase because of the poor service.

Zero stars given if I could (for the Lady taking pictures at Santa’s Wonderland) I made a reservation for today, 12/14/2025 at 10:15am. Since I made a reservation, I asked one of the Ladies at the counter if we needed to check-in. Older Lady with almost blonde hair ( the one actually taking the pictures ) pointed, said loudly, “you need to get to the back of the line” EVERY parent in that line, which was not small, was STARING AT US. When people in front is us had a turn the same Lady came and told MY kids to stay behind the sign. Understandable. BUT, she did NOT make the same effort to the family in front of us who WERE NOT behind that sign. Then, when our turn came my 2 year old daughter was scared. Not wanting to be near Santa. I was struggling, trying to get her to calm down for the picture. That same LADY, LOUDLY said “ there is a long line, we need to take the picture” ONCE again EVERY PARENT in that line was STARING at us. NO she was not nice about the way she was talking. She did not try to help. She was RUDE. My experience was overall frustrating, embarrassing, and took everything I HAD not to leave or treat her with the same disrespect. I worked in retail for YEARS during busy holidays, had long lines as I was a cashier and I NEVER treated people that way. This is supposed to be a FUN FRIENDLY experience. And wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody for Santa pictures. Should have went in the actual mall for it. A Regrettable, Horrible experience.

Arriving at Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s in Grand Junction, you can feel the dry heat of western Colorado in the air — wide roads, pale sky, red rock in the distance, and that quiet desert stillness that stretches far beyond the horizon 🌄🌬️. This part of the state feels open and powerful, shaped by canyons, plateaus, and the slow movement of the Colorado River. Step inside, and the temperature drops into a calm, cool comfort. The heavy wood, stone textures, huge aquariums, boats, hunting gear, fishing walls, boots, and outdoor clothing create a grounded, rugged atmosphere 🎣🦌👢. It feels like a shelter built for people who live close to land, water, and distance. There’s a steady, unhurried feeling here. No rush — just space to walk, look, and breathe. During colder months, the store becomes especially cozy, with soft lighting and seasonal decorations adding warmth against the mountain air ❄️🌲🙂. Once you walk back outside, the landscape opens again — long highways, dry wind, distant cliffs, and that unmistakable Western quiet that makes the road feel endless 🚗🌄. This Cabela’s doesn’t feel like just a store. It feels like a pause point between desert, river, and mountain — a calm stop before the next stretch of road. Strong land, wide sky, steady air — and a place that fits right into it.
