So my future bride to be and myself went to Shane Co. in Walnut Creek to get ourselves engagement rings, knowing next year we will get married. The experience couldn’t have gone smoother. We both had a bit of anxieties going into the experience, as we weren’t sure if it would be a “used car salesman” type experience… we couldn’t have been more relaxed! Marissa was so thorough, not pushy and took her time with us showing so many rings for the both of us. Eventually she pulled one that was “the one” for my fiancé. Overall just a pleasant experience and when we went back to finally pick up the rings.. Marissa came running from the back to see how they all came out! What a great and personable experience. Lifetime customers right here.

Caleb was wonderful to work with. Very fortunate that he was the person who helped me. He has great listening skills, but his best trait is that he has an eye for beautiful jewelry. I hope I get to work with him again next time I come to Shane co

First time coming to Shane Co. Really busy place! We thought there was a sale or something but turns out, that's just typical of their store. Customer service was great, but we waited a lot since our sales person was helping us and other people at the same time. That would be my only negative. I appreciated them giving us time to look and take our time, but we waited quite a bit for our person to come back and help us. Lots of variety in the store as far as jewelry, and we did end up buying a ring.
The parking lot is tight. It's literally an Office Max, Shane Co and Goodwill. All the spots were filled. There was a small parking lot across the street, which unfortunately my car got broken into. Was not happy about that.

I’ve come into Shane Co a few times to look for an engagement ring and then months later, a wedding band. Each time I’ve come in I was greeted and taken well care of. The staff has always been really attentive and kind. Lindsey was wonderful and allowed me to take my time trying on different bands to see how they looked with my engagement ring. There are many designs so it can be tough making a decision! Definitely a good problem to have! ;)
All in all, I will continue shopping at Shane Co for any future jewelry needs. Huge thank ya to Lindsey and all the staff at this location!

I am EXTREMELY disappointed with the jewelers at Shane Co. Their slogan, “Your friend and jeweler,” feels completely misleading based on the consistent lack of quality and care put into my ring.
This is now the fourth issue with the same ring. My fiancé had to send it back multiple times before I was even involved due to obvious problems like an unpolished and crooked diamond—basic mistakes that should never pass inspection. It’s honestly baffling that something as simple as setting a diamond straight has been repeatedly mishandled.
My most recent experience was even worse. I went in to pick up my ring after changing the band, only to find they didn’t even follow my request for a kite setting on my princess-cut diamond. That alone shows a lack of attention to detail.
After sending it back “for 30 minutes,” I got a call saying they had fixed the setting—but then damaged the ring during the process. The rhodium from the setting splashed onto the rose gold band. Then, instead of correcting it, they made it worse. I received another call saying the damage had spread further and the setting itself had been weakened from repeated handling.
At that point, my ring was in worse condition than when I picked it up.
I can’t imagine how it would feel if this had been a ring I’d owned and loved for years. If this is how they handle a new piece, I wouldn’t trust them with anything of sentimental value.
This isn’t a minor issue—this is a significant piece of jewelry that’s supposed to last a lifetime. Instead, it feels like it’s being handled carelessly, rushed, and repeatedly ruined.
I also drive from Galt, so dealing with multiple trips, delays, and repeated mistakes has been incredibly frustrating and a complete waste of time.
The only reason this isn’t a 1-star review is because of the customer service. Caleb and Luisa have been professional, honest, and have done their best to manage situations that clearly stem from poor craftsmanship behind the scenes.
At the end of the day, you don’t go to a jewelry store to “make friends”—you go for quality work. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend going somewhere else if you actually want your jewelry done right.
