  DO NOT BUY FURNITURE WARRANTIES!!! We bought a couch from JCPenny and we were sold the 5 year warranty. Everything met the requirements for the warranty and they said they were sending a tech to look at the couch. Tech never showed up. I get an email saying after the tech evaluation, that it was not covered under warranty. The process of filling out the claim is not worth it, the customer service of the warranty company is absolutely awful, and then JCPenny of course is going to say that there is nothing they can do. It’s up to the warranty company. Do not make the mistake of buying warranties from here. It is a nightmare and an absolute ripoff!!

  My most recent experience with jc penny at jewelry department starts on my daughter’s birthday, when I walked in there after seeing their website and decided to make my trip to purchase one for her. As I walked in the store, I see the lady Melinda or Hilda whatever her name is, and I politely ask her about the necklace I’ve seen on the website, to which she obviously didn’t even seemed to care and without even giving me a look said “we don’t have anything like that in here” and tried to walk away. I then showed her the website and she continued to say “we don’t sell that in jc penny not here” with a bad tone, obviously annoyed that I kept asking her. I proceeded to ask her , “isn’t this jc penny?, because look this is clearly you guy’s website” to which again she seemed to not care. There was another white lady in the counter and I see she clearly wanted to help her instead of me and I plainly told “her go ahead help the lady that you want, since obviously she seems more important to you than us”, and she kept replying “oh no it’s ok” I said “well you obviously are being very rude and seems like you don’t want to help, so what’s the problem?” So I am mad at this point and said “does it look like I don’t have money to purchase something from here and you think this lady would?” To which she replied in a sarcastic tone “oh I see you have lots of money, I can tell” absolutely disgusting attitude! And I said so what’s your name to which she replied”would you like me to spell it for you ?” Disgusting! Absolutely horrendous customer service, I even tried talking to the manager and another worker, that I can tell was covering for her denied me of talking to the person in charge . Will never buy jewelry from jc penny so I can be treated like trash! Stay away from this store if you look like a low income costumer.

  One star is a lot, the JCPenney’s store in Ventura Ca, is getting worse every day. Employees and Store Manager didn’t care.

  Poorly staffed and the construction made it challenging to get to the 2nd floor which is where I needed to go
