- AYAndy YangMar 25, 20264.0It's a bit of an odd store because it is meant I guess for Columbia employees as well as charitable organizations, military personnel, and the like - and yet their signage is visible from the highway as if to attract walk-ins. I got an invite through a charitable organization I was working with. Basically it's 40% off ticketed price but most of the ticketed prices are at MSRP, so if you just HAVE to get a full-priced item it's worth it. But the Columbia website has tons of good stuff on-line on sale all the time and so it's not necessarily better than perusing through the website and finding good deals that way. Still they have some high quality stuff and again, if you need to get something that is not on sale, it's a good place to get a really solid discount.

They are so kind to military, and other organizations such as Kaiser and my Castro Valley School District. I do get a bigger discount in Portland Oregon due to a family member. Why, they get passes to the headquarter store and there are no state sales tax in Oregon!!! Not like California! Yes, I am a school teacher who backpacks. You cannot beat the quality for the price. Other discount stores will sure help the pocketbook but you get what you pay for! As for some of the complaints about helpfulness. I just tell them I am a 30 year veteran kindergarten teacher and don't do double digit math! As a larger dude, Prana pants are the most comfortable pants I have ever tried on. I have running shirts that are 15 years old and still feel great!. Check around with your friends to get in! Active military can get in at any time. I do agree they should have better signage, yet for what they have, quality, and price, they are well worth checking out.
