  I had a very uncomfortable experience at this JCPenney. My mom and I were followed all the way out the door by staff, which made it very clear they thought we were stealing even though we absolutely were not. Being followed like that felt embarrassing and unfair. No questions were asked or handled the situation professionally. Instead, we were made to feel suspected and judged for no reason. Customer service should make people feel welcome, not uncomfortable or accused. This experience really ruined our visit, and I don’t think we’ll be returning to this location.

  I had an absolutely outstanding experience at the JCPenney on Hawthorne Blvd in Torrance, thanks entirely to Lupe at the register. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind from start to finish — the kind of cashier who makes you feel welcome the moment you step up. What really made the experience special was that Lupe surprised us with a mystery sale coupon we didn’t even know existed. She took the extra time to apply it and made sure we got the best possible deal, resulting in significant savings on our purchase. It wasn’t rushed or transactional — it felt thoughtful and intentional. Retail interactions like this are rare, and Lupe is a perfect example of how great customer service can completely change the tone of a shopping trip. JCPenney is lucky to have her. We’ll absolutely be back, and I hope she gets the recognition she deserves. Thank you, Lupe, for turning a regular shopping trip into a genuinely great experience.

  Back in the day, JCPenney used to be that old-school, family store — you know, the one where your mom or grandma shopped for Easter dresses and practical shoes. Definitely not known for fashion back then! But I have to say, over the last several years, their fashion sense has really improved. It’s no Saks Fifth Avenue or Neiman Marcus, of course, but if you know how to put outfits together, you can create some really stylish looks without spending a fortune. I went in just planning to grab one item (you know how that goes), but I ended up browsing through the racks and finding some surprisingly cute pieces. I even started looking online while I was in the store to see if they had more styles and sizes — that’s how much I liked what I saw. They didn’t have the exact shoes I wanted in stock, but the clothing selection made up for it. I recently made this off-white coat, and I was able to find matching accessories — off-white gloves, a hat, a scarf, and even a poncho — right there at JCPenney. When I say the look came together perfectly, it really did. I walked out feeling stylish, coordinated, and pleasantly surprised. So shoutout to JCPenney for stepping up their fashion game and offering quality styles that don’t break the bank. Plus, they had a pretty good sale going on, which made it even better. Keep it up, JCPenney — y’all definitely upgraded from the store I remember growing with.
