  *Not a safe space for people of color* I brought my little cousins here for their birthday and they were having a lot fun picking out what they wanted. There is a good variety of options. However, I noticed that an older woman was following us around and watching us very closely the whole time we were there. I noticed her watching us & made eye contact a few times, but she would just look away and act as if she was looking for something on the shelves. She continued to follow us around the whole store. It wasn’t until we went to check out that I realized she worked there. She was even listening to our conversations because when I asked the kids if they were ready to go pay she followed us to the register and checked us out. We spent around $90 total on stickers and stuffed animals. I wish I hadn’t spent any money here. It was so disappointing to realize we were being watched and followed. If you’re a person of color I don’t recommend coming here. They’ll watch you and probably assume you’re trying to steal.

  Such a fun little paper + gift shop in Santa Cruz. This place is packed with the coolest cards, game boards, quirky toys, and playful finds you didn’t know you needed. Everything is well-organized, so it’s easy to browse without feeling overwhelmed. Located on a lively, busy street that’s great to walk around, with street meter parking nearby. Perfect spot to pop into while exploring the area and looking for a unique card or gift.

  Fantastic collection of cards, etc. Owner is crazy super rude though. Yuko is much friendlier, which helps (a bit). I would never understand attitudes like that though, just make customers question entering the shop.....must be super good for business I imagine......
