    That store is my favorite Nordstrom Rack, and I shop there often. They have some of the most wonderful and helpful employees,usually older ladies,who are always professional and kind. During my Christmas shopping, I placed a large online order that had some complications. Last week (Thursday, January 22), I went to the store to return a few items. I saw many familiar faces, but unfortunately, I ended up being helped by a young cashier whose attitude surprised me from the very beginning. As soon as she heard the word “return,” it felt like she took it personally. One of the items was a pair of sunglasses I bought as a Christmas gift for my mom. When they arrived, I opened the box and realized they weren’t comfortable, so I never used them, never took them on my trip, and never gifted them. They stayed in the box to be returned. The cashier took the sunglasses out( with all the tags in original attached way) and pointed out a very tiny scratch that I had no idea about and was not my fault, especially since the glasses were never worn or even tried on. As we all know, many items in stores are returned multiple times. I explained this, but she went to her supervisor and showed her the scratch. I could hear the supervisor saying it was acceptable, but the cashier kept insisting there was an issue,even though the scratch wasn’t visible to the supervisor. She then came back and, in a very rude tone, said, “You say you haven’t used it, but your fingerprints are on it.” I have never seen customer service handled this way,arguing with a customer like that. Eventually, the top manager, Sivida, came over, and as usual, she saved the day within minutes. She handled not only the sunglasses return but also the complications with the rest of my items. She was calm, professional, and completely in control. This was not my first experience with her,she is always incredibly helpful. I want to thank Sivida and also share that I strongly feel the young cashier needs proper customer service training. I have worked in customer service management myself, and professionalism with customers truly matters. As I was walking away after thanking Sivida, I could hear her telling the two employees who were not helpful, “Why do you make situations complicated and waste the customer’s time? Why didn’t you try to find the information using her phone number?” That, to me, is the mark of a manager who deserves recognition. Thank you, Sivida.

    Online order pick up is very well run with a separate wait line. The young gentleman who manages the pick up counter does a really great job. He's always very efficient, and courteous. I always have a great experience picking up there when he serves me and wanted to thank him for a job well done. Sorry didn't write down his name.
