  Called this place the other day to inquire about exchanging a defective pair of Oakley's I bought in Maui. The guy told me I would have to go to the Sunglass Hut in SFO airport to do my return. This made zero sense. When I asked him to explain why, he told me he had to go because he had customers, and abruptly hung up on me before I could say anything else. This was bad service. The location in Union Square took my exchange no problem.

  Came to this particular location on Pier 39 (2 beach) since they open a bit later than other locations in SF. It’s not quite a full-fledged store and is more of an outdoor mall kiosk.

I purchased 4 pairs of sunglasses (3 pairs of Oakleys and 1 pair of Ray-bans) at a SoCal location. I was on the fence on one of the Oakleys and the sales people assured me I could bring ‘em back if I changed my mind. I decided I didn’t like the frameless design of the Oakley’s and wanted to exchange them with a similar pair in a different color so stopped by this location after work within the 30 day return window with the all the original packaging, cases, cloths, and original receipt. When I arrived, only 1 associate was working the kiosk so had to wait 15-20 mins for him to wrap up a transaction with a family. I knew exactly which style and color of sunglasses I wanted, had everything in order, so was hoping for a quick and easy exchange. Unfortunately, the associate, Laurence, was difficult from the get go, constantly trying correct me at every opportunity. He ultimately claimed the glasses had a scratch that I either did myself or was sold to me already scratched. I informed him the store had sold me the pair off the shelf as they were the last ones and I didn’t notice any scratches then and wasn’t able to see any in that moment either. He then offered me a “resolution” to buy the pair I wanted at 50% off as a warranty claim, even though they were cheaper than the ones I was returning and the pair I wanted to return were never worn. What a great offer!! He ultimately refused to follow Sunglass Hut’s own returns & exchange policy and attempted to use it as an opportunity to pull some other bogus sale. I shop at Sunglass Hut trusting that their national presence will allow me to get the best service possible wherever I might be, but this experience sadly did not live up.
