Founded in 1847 in Paris, Cartier stands as one of the world’s most esteemed and respected Maisons in the luxury industry. Today, the Maison is renowned worldwide for its jewelry creations and watches, perfumes and exceptional accessories - symbols of fine craftsmanship and elegance, quality and excellence.
My experience with Cartier was mixed. The jewelry service department was very disappointing — my ring is less than two years old, and when a diamond fell out, I was immediately told I would be charged and blamed, with no mention of warranty, empathy, or responsibility. This felt far from what the Cartier brand once stood for.
Thankfully, JOLIE, the sales associate, completely changed the experience. She truly cared, fought for me with the service department, and successfully resolved the issue. Her dedication, professionalism, and advocacy were exceptional.
Huge kudos to JOLIE— she saved the experience. All 5 stars going just to Jolie

Had a great experience with MJ today. She was very friendly and went over the entire functionality of the watch, which I ended up purchasing. I highly recommend MJ and this Cartier location!

Wonderful experience of hospitality and customer service with a special shout out to Esperanza. My husband and I came in with our toddler and she was so helpful to us and sweet to her. She played games with her patiently as our purchase was being gift wrapped and made us feel at home. Purchasing with her and also with exchanging a purchase she happily accommodated us with patience and expertise. It was a pleasure! Thank you again and we are very happy!

I debated on leaving this review for a long time, but it was a very upsetting experience and I feel like I should say something about it.
In order to avoid potential legal issues I will only be providing facts about what happened. I don’t believe this location is representative of the company. I am also not blaming the company itself for the customer service provided by its employees.
These are excerpts from a dispute letter my husband submitted to our credit card company, some parts have been removed to avoid legal issues:
“On December 24, 2024, I purchased the ring as a Christmas gift for my mother-in-law. I informed the sales associate (Ana Pina) that I did not have my mother-in-law’s ring size, so we would come back to exchange the ring for the right size.
On December 27th, my wife went back to Cartier with my mother-in-law to exchange the ring. Initially, my mother-in-law wanted to exchange the ring for a different size, and the sales associate had no problem with this. However, when she saw another ring she liked better, she told the sales associate she wanted to exchange the ring for a different one of lower price value. Only after this, the sales associate stated he had to take the ring in the back for further inspection.
Looking back on this, my wife found it very odd that the sales associate didn’t inspect the ring in front of them. Following this, the sales associate returned from the backroom and claimed the ring was damaged by us...
…The scratches and dings were so severe that it would have been impossible for us to have not noticed this before. There is no good reason for the sales associate to have not inspected the ring we returned in front of us.
After the sales associate brought the ring back, he pointed out the scratches and damages on the ring and told us it couldn’t be returned or exchanged. We informed him the ring was never worn and it was only tried on once after the gift was opened. Also, we only had possession of the ring for three days. It would have not been possible for us to cause this amount of damage in only three days especially since it was never worn or used…
…The sales associate Ana Pina and Madeline Sumner (store manager) kept insisting that we caused the damage and refused to exchange the ring. They offered to have the ring inspected by their in-house jeweler who would determine if the ring could be repaired back into a sellable condition…
…Last week they contacted us and reiterated their refusal to exchange the ring for a different one or to refund me…”
The employees never gave us a proper explanation for inspecting the ring in the back.
I would like to add their main argument about how we damaged the ring. All three workers(the sales associate who inspected the ring, Ana Pina, and Madeline Sumner) kept insisting that we damaged the ring by stacking it on top of another ring(my mother never stacked the rings). This was a unanimous agreement they all came to. It’s important to remember they are sales associates, not professional jewelers.
Both my husband and I own 18k solid gold rings. I have a wedding band and engagement ring that have been stacked for over 3 years. The most damage my ring has is scratches, not dents. I think any person who has 18k solid gold jewelry would agree to this. If 18k solid gold was so soft that it could be damaged that heavily by stacking rings, I doubt anyone would invest that amount of money into it.
Unfortunately, I do not have the name of male sales associate who took the ring to the back.
My husband and I are very fortunate to have won our dispute thanks to the evidence we provided. In most cases, you will not win your dispute based on other stories I have seen online. It also helped that we went to another professional jeweler who provided their own inspection report to our credit card company.
My post includes pictures of the damaged ring provided by Ana Pina and Madeline Sumner.
I hope this post helps anyone who considers shopping here.
